Our Gathering Walk event to launch
the Saint Aelred's Pilgrim Trail
September 14th 2024
In conjunction with Heritage Open Days 2024 and Yorkshire Churches Ride and Stride, come and enjoy all or part of the 12 mile walk which will launch our new Trail. You can join in in several places and walk 12, 7, 5 or 4 miles or just a few hundred metres to end at Rievaulx Abbey for our service and celebration with fizz and canapes!

Approximate timings for the day - Saturday14 September 2024
4 hours 45 minutes to 5 hours approximately actual walking time
Leave Hawnby at 8.30am
Arrive Old Byland by 10am for drinks and cake
Leave Old Byland 10.30am
Arrive Scawton 11.40am
Leave Scawton 11.45am
Arrive Cold Kirby 12.45pm space in the village hall to eat packed lunches and enjoy a hot drink
Leave Cold Kirby 1.45pm
Arrive Rievaulx by 3 to 3.15pm
Service in the Nave of Rievaulx Abbey from 4pm
