​With the church behind you cross the road and go slightly uphill to the letter box on the right-hand side of the road and turn right here on to a footpath. Cross a field. Bear left through a gate and cross another small field to a small gate. Bear left. Follow path signs *over a stile to your right but take care as there is some rusty wire. Head NW following a track and across another field to the top left corner. Cross the track ahead and through game crop to the top of Flassen Dale.

. Go down the stony track with care. At the bottom your path is to the left across the shooting track through the valley. Look for the signpost and the path *ascends steeply behind it to the left. After rain this can be slippery. An alternative route can be seen on the map- turn left and then for 100 metres and then sharp right uphill to the wider path indicated below.

Follow this path to join a wider path at the top of the valley side. Bear left and head N on a path with a crop field on your left. This path eventually leads through a metal gate to Cold Kirby. The Village Hall is on your left and St Michael’s Church is on the right.
